PUBLIC HEALTH

What is public health? Public health is the science of and art of preventing disease, prolonging life, and promoting health through the organized effort and informed choices of society, organizations, public and private communities, and individuals. Public health protects and improves neighborhoods and communities by preventing epidemics and spreading illnesses and diseases. Public health encourages healthy lifestyles for children and families, protecting against dangers in homes, work, communities, and the environment.
